| Product description: Melamine Polyphosphate (MPP) is a high-efficiency, halogen-free flame retardant widely used in engineering plastics and high-temperature processing materials. It leverages an intumescent mechanism that combines acid source, gas source, and carbonization actions to suppress combustion effectively. Key FeaturesHalogen-Free & Eco-Friendly MPP contains no bromine or chlorine, avoiding toxic dioxin/furan formation during combustion. It aligns with global regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS) and offers a safer environmental profile. Dual-Action Flame Retardancy Acid Source (Polyphosphate Component): Upon heating, the polyphosphate decomposes to form polyphosphoric acid, which catalyzes dehydration and charring of the polymer matrix, creating a preliminary carbon layer. Gas Source (Melamine Component): The melamine moiety decomposes at high temperatures (>300°C), releasing non-flammable gases (e.g., nitrogen, ammonia). These gases dilute oxygen and flammable volatiles in the combustion zone. Synergistic Intumescent Effect The released gases cause the initial char layer to expand into a porous, insulating "carbon foam". This barrier blocks heat transfer, oxygen diffusion, and the release of combustible gases, effectively quenching the fire. |
